JPMorgan Chase is one of the leading companies that deal with bank holdings, with over $2 trillion dollars in assets that are spread out over 50 countries. Under the Chase brand, the bank provides a host of banking services such as credit cards and loans to its customers. They are considered a hands-down leader in investment banking, and offer financial services for small businesses and consumers, asset management, private equity, and financial transaction processing.
Under the Chase and JP Morgan brands, the bank is responsible for some of the most influential and prominent clients, institutions, and corporations on the planet.
The bank itself is the end result of a number of acquisitions and merges of some legacy institutions, including Chase Manhattan, Bank One, the National Bank of Detroit, J.P. Morgan, and First Chicago to name a few.
Many financial experts refer to JP Morgan Chase as being an institution that was born with a silver spoon, but they haven’t let that define them. With over 5,000 bank branches, and growing, they are among the nation’s biggest mortgage lenders and they also issued more credit cards than a vast array of banks.
Subsidiaries of the bank include JPMorgan Private Bank and JPMorgan Asset Management, which has approximately $2 trillion dollars worth of assets under their supervision.
JPMorgan is proud of the mobile and online banking services that it offers, and services over 14,500 ATMs worldwide.
One of the strong points for JPMorgan Chase is the hedge fund unit that is considered to be the second largest in all of the United States. The fund is valued at over $32 billion dollars and was created back in 200 when the Chase Manhattan Corporation merged with JP Morgan & Co.
The Chase portion of the brand is the one that is mainly used for all of the retail banking services within the United States and for the credit card services that are provided throughout all of North America.
